In all seriousness though, while the idea of Valentines day has itself become a commercialised holiday to fill the gap between Christmas and Easter, it is a great excuse to do something a little different with your loved one. 

It can be so easy to get stuck in a routine and forget to make special time for yourself and your partner, so when something like Valentine's day comes along, it's always good to make the most of it.

There is often a lot of pressure to go out for an expensive meal or things like that, but sometimes you can't beat a cosy night in for two with a tasty, home cooked meal. If you have any candles they can create a romantic setting for your meal.

A few years ago I wrote a post about having a valentines night in for two, so wanted to pull some new recipes together this year that are the perfect portions for you and your love. 

What makes these meals even better is that they're a healthier option, which means if you're on a diet you don't need to break it to celebrate.
