Devon's Best Dinner Dates: Harry's Restaurant Review

*This meal was complementary of Harry's, yet all thoughts and opinions are honest and my own*

When people ask me for recommendations of where to eat, somewhere that I always suggest is Harry's Restaurant in Exeter.

For 20 years Harry's restaurant and Harry's Grill Bar reigned supreme in Exeter, but towards the end of 2015 Harry's grill bar was no more, and Harry's restaurant took over the popular Harry's name.

The restaurant is situated on Longbrook Street and provides a relaxing and friendly atmosphere to dine in. I couldn't really explain Harry's restaurant as 1 particular culinary style because there is such a vast menu with lot's of options. Whether you fancy a Mexican dish, burger or nibbles, cocktails, milk shakes, or even breakfast, Harry's has something on the menu for you.

They recently underwent a refurbishment, which has given so much extra space and light to the restaurant.

After the success of my Exeter's Best Breakfast search, I decided to look for Devon's Best Dinner Dates. Scored on the service, atmosphere and food.

Harry's has long been a favourite of ours, so we decided to have some items from the menu that we haven't tried before. For starters my boyfriend went for half a rack of BBQ ribs, and I chose whipped goats cheese on toast with walnuts, truffle oil and honey.

My boyfriend said the ribs were he best he had ever tasted, and the meat literally fell off the bone. They meat had a rich, smoky BBQ flavour and melted in the mouth.

My started was incredible, and one I would definitely try again. The balance of the flavour between the goats cheese, truffle oil and honey was a perfect blend of sweet and savoury. The crunch from the toast and walnuts complemented the smooth, whipped goats cheese.

For main I had the Harry's Lasagne, with salad and garlic bread. The lasagne was so perfectly cooked, with a rich meat ragu, lasagne sheets and cheesy bechamel sauce. There was a generous side serving of salad, and the garlic bread is honestly one of the best I have ever tasted!

My boyfriend had a Cheese and Bacon burger with no salad or sauce (he's fussy!), and
said it was delicious. The portion sizes are big, and we both felt full and satisfied when we finished.

The high quality and standard of food that Harry's consistently serve their customer's is why Harry's remains as one of the most popular restaurants in Exeter, and long may this continue!
