What to Serve for Your Fifty Shades of Gray Watching Party

Well-known for its provocative scenes and controversial topic, the book “Fifty Shades of Grey,” along with its further film adaptation, exploded the world of literature and cinema with its boldness. Thousands of people worldwide have discovered the world of BDSM practices for the first time. Some used it to strengthen their relationships, and some, on the contrary, left their old partner to explore a new side of themselves with someone else. Themed parties aren’t uncommon either, where friends with their significant others gather at someone’s house to watch this movie, drink tasty beverages, and enjoy themed dishes. If you want to throw a party like this at your place but don’t really know what dishes to make to impress everyone and add to the atmosphere, we have you covered! Here are three of the best dishes from the book you can make for a “50 Shades of Grey” movie night.

Find Your Own Christian Gray or Anastasia on a Dating Site

Holding this kind of event is way better if you already have a partner because watching Fifty Shades of Grey with your lover is a much more pleasant experience. If you didn’t consider this point in advance, and the party is already planned, you should still fix this small inconvenience fast. Finding someone special to invite to your party in no time and without having to run to the nearest bar is possible with online dating. Regardless of your gender, age, religious beliefs, or location, you stand a good chance of meeting a movie buff who will agree to join your frisky party.

If you’re a pagan, don’t be too quick to say no, because the world of online dating can surprise you big time! Open any verified pagan dating site, and you’ll see how many like-minded people from the UK are gathered in one place. Using built-in filters, you can choose your future partner’s religion (pagan like yourself) as well as their hobbies (watching movies and BDSM, for example) and location (UK or any other part of the globe). The site you use will give you a list of people who match your criteria, so you can contact them and invite them to your place. And to make the upcoming date night even better, prepare the following three finger-licking dishes.

Three Best Dishes from Fifty Shades of Grey Worth Trying

1) Nettle soup

Ingredients for 6-8 servings:

  • Nettles – 2.5 cups (1 cup = 285 ml)

  • Butter – 60 g

  • Fine oat flakes – 30 g

  • Broth – 850 ml

  • Milk – 280 ml

Directions:

1. Remove the stems from the nettles and finely chop the leaves.

2. Melt the butter in a saucepan, add the rolled oats and cook until the mixture is golden brown.

3. Take the pot off the heat and pour in the broth.

4. Boil and pour in the milk.

5. Boil again, add the nettles, and cook for a few minutes.

6. Try it to make sure it tastes good.

Enjoy your meal!

2) Pasta Alle Vongole

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • Spaghetti – 400 g

  • Clams, freshly cleaned – 1 kg

  • Onion – 1 pc

  • Garlic – 2 cloves

  • Parsley – 1 bunch

  • White wine – 175 ml

  • Salt – to taste

  • White pepper – a small pinch

  • Chili – a small pinch

  • Lemon juice, freshly squeezed – one dessert spoon

  • Extra virgin olive oil – 50 ml

Directions:

1. Boil 4L of water, and add salt.

2. Meanwhile, finely chop the onion, garlic, and parsley. Rinse and drain the mussels.

3. Put a tablespoon of oil in the pan where the mussels will be cooked separately. Put the rest of the oil in a high-sided frying pan, where all the ingredients will be placed, and fry the onion, garlic, and 3/4 of the parsley over low heat.

4. Add the pasta to the boiling water and cook until al dente, then drain.

5. Meanwhile, heat the oil in the prepared pan, add the mussels to it, stir well and pour in some wine. Cover the pan with the lid and let the mussels cook for about 5 minutes until they crack.

6. Remove the mussels from the pan with a ladle and transfer them to another pan. Sort out any mussels that are still closed. (Do not open them by force, and do not eat them! Raw mussels can be poisonous!). Pour the broth from the pot through a very fine sieve into the pan to keep any sand left in the mussels from getting into the food.

7. Add remaining parsley and season with salt, pepper, chili, and lemon juice.

8. Add pasta to the pan and mix everything well.

9. Arrange on warmed plates and serve WITHOUT cheese.

Bon Appetit!

3) Lemon Syllabub

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • White dry wine – 10 g

  • Dry sherry – 2 tbsp

  • Sugar – 60g

  • Cream – 30 g

  • Nutmeg

  • A lemon

Directions:

1. Remove the zest from the lemon in a thin spiral and squeeze out the juice.

2. Leave the wine, sherry, lemon juice, and lemon zest to infuse for several hours. Then add sugar, grate the nutmeg, add the cream, and mix until a fluffy consistency.

3. Serve in chilled parfait glasses garnished with nutmeg, a sprig of mint, and a slice of lemon.

Tip: The syllabub doesn’t get quite as stiff as whipped cream, but almost. And it keeps well in the fridge for a day without changing its consistency. The impressive thing is that the cream will not curdle despite its high acidity if you whip it gently by hand. It is very important to whip the cream by hand and find the moment to stop. Otherwise, the mass will separate, and small pieces of butter will float in the wine. This is almost impossible with an electric mixer.

Try these out, and no one will ever forget your Fifty Shades of Gray watching party!
