Reasons Why Tenerife is the Best Summer Holidays Destination

It is not uncommon for people to struggle to come up with a destination for their summer holidays because they know that there is always the possibility of spending time and money on a place that does not correspond with their tastes after all.

Tenerife is a safe option as it is hard not to enjoy spending time in a place that looks like an earthly paradise. If you feel that you need a bit more convincing, we are here to provide you with solid reasons why you shouldn’t miss the chance of going to Tenerife this summer.

Reason 1: The largest of the Canary islands

Even if you had never heard of Tenerife before, you must know the Canary islands. They are a complex of islands in the Atlantic Ocean. They are known for their stunning natural and diverse landscapes as tourists can swim in beautiful beaches and climb rugged cliffs. You will need more than a week to get about and explore the largest island of them all, Tenerife. Still you should hire a car if you want to at least try. You can find and hire an excellent car that has the size, the motor functions and the price that you like on Enjoy Travel in no time. Then, you will be able to visit spots all around the island no matter how far they are.

Reason 2: It is easy to “hop” to the other Canary islands

If you want to take full advantage of your time in Tenerife, it is recommended that you check the available ferry routes and spend at least a day or two in a neighbouring island. It is important to know that there are eight main islands in the archipelago: Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, La Palma, La Gomera, El Hierro and La Graciosa. We have already mentioned that Tenerife is the largest. La Graciosa is the smallest island in the archipelago. You should do your research in order to decide which one(s) you are more interested in visiting.

Reason 3: It is always sunny in Tenerife

Tenerife is widely known for the summery weather that it has all year round. Its climate is characterised as subtropical oceanic, and this explains the mild winters and the always high temperatures. The few rain showers that occur in winter appear even less in summer. These weather conditions justify why Tenerife is called "the island of eternal spring".

Reason 4: Food in Tenerife is splendid

Let’s start by saying that there are, not one but two, restaurants that have been awarded a Michelin star in Tenerife. Although you can find restaurants that offer dishes from Spanish and all other kinds of cuisines, you should definitely try foods that are unique in Tenerife and in the Canary islands. You should order el gofio, papas arrugadas, rancho canario, Sancocho canario and queso de cabra.
