Tucked away inside one of London’s most legendary architectural glow-ups is a bar that literally feels like a time capsule from a 1950s sci-fi movie. It's chic, it's moody, and yes, the lighting is immaculate for photos.
Before we talk about the drinks, we have to talk about the venue itself. If you haven’t been to Battersea Power Station since its massive multi-billion-pound facelift, you are seriously missing out.
This place is an absolute London icon. Back in the day, this massive industrial masterpiece literally generated a fifth of London’s electricity, powering everything from the Houses of Parliament to Buckingham Palace.
For decades, it sat empty, looking moody and dramatic on the south bank of the Thames. But now? It’s been totally transformed into this stunning, futuristic hub packed with gorgeous shops, restaurants, and apartments.
It effortlessly blends that gritty, historic Art Deco architecture with sleek modern luxury.
Which brings me to the absolute highlight of my visit: Control Room B. Perched on its own private mezzanine floor, this gorgeous all-day cocktail bar overlooks the sprawling Turbine Hall B.
The second you walk through the doors, you feel like you’ve been transported straight onto a 1950s mid-century film set. The coolest part? They didn't tear out the history; they embraced it.
You are literally sipping drinks surrounded by the original stainless steel control desks, switchgear racks, and walls covered in pale blue tiles and vintage dials that used to manage London's power grids.
Right in the centre of the room sits a breathtaking, circular bar designed to look like a giant radial turbine sculpture. It glows with this warm, moody amber and pink lighting that makes everyone look amazing.
Whether you’re stopping by for a cheeky afternoon iced coffee and pastry or settling into one of their plush mid-century lounge chairs for a late-night date night, the atmosphere is quietly electric. It is the perfect mix of brutalist industrial design and retro glamour. If you want a cocktail experience in London that actually feels unique and looks incredible on your grid, you need to put this on your list!
If you go to Control Room B with a friend or your partner, you have to order their signature sharing drink, literally called The Battersea Power Station.
I am not exaggerating when I say my jaw dropped when they brought it over. It is served in this absolutely adorable, custom ceramic vessel that is literally a miniature version of the power station itself—complete with the iconic white chimneys!
It is a 10/10 for presentation and is basically begging to be featured on your Instagram Stories.
Honestly, sometimes these hyper-aesthetic drinks can be all style and no substance, but this one completely delivered.
It is incredibly fruity, sweet, and delicate without being overly sugary. They mix Oxley Gin with cherry liqueur, pomegranate, pineapple, and fresh lime, and then top the whole thing off with bubbly spumante to give it that perfect fizz. It is super refreshing and feels so celebratory to sip out of your little landmark.
Pro Tip: Make sure your phone is ready before they serve it—it's the ultimate boozy photo op!

If you want something a bit more sophisticated, moody, and downright theatrical, you have to try The Rheostat.
I am usually a fruity cocktail girl through and through, but this one completely blew me away. It is their take on a smoky, boozy masterpiece, and it is honestly pure drama in a glass.
They blend Dewar’s 12-Year-Old and Ardbeg 10-Year-Old Scotch whiskies, so it has this gorgeous, rich peat-smoke depth right from the first sip. But what makes it so special is the addition of Mozart Dark Chocolate, cherry, vanilla, and chocolate bitters.
It sounds like a wild combination, but the rich, bitter sweetness of the dark chocolate cuts through the intense smoky whisky so beautifully. It feels incredibly luxurious, warming, and sophisticated—perfect for sipping slowly while you take in all those retro 1950s dials. Plus, you get to lift the glass top to reveal a the smoky masterpiece!
If you want a cocktail that is literally a piece of the building's history, you have to order the Battersea Brick.
Yes, you read that right, it is served in a custom ceramic glass that looks exactly like a smooth, orange-brown building brick. It's a massive nod to the 1.3 million bricks used to restore the power station.
This one is for everyone who loves a drink with a bit of a kick. It is super citrusy and spicy, balancing that perfect punchy flavour.
They blend Patrón Silver Tequila and Aperol with a unique cactus, pimento, and prickly pear liqueur. To give it that fiery edge, they add a splash of spicy bitters and fresh lime, before topping it all off with Franklin & Sons Pink Grapefruit Soda.
It is incredibly refreshing, slightly bubbly, and has this gorgeous coral-orange colour that matches the brick vessel perfectly. It’s easily one of the most creative drinks on the menu!
London is absolutely packed with immersive bars, but so many of them feel a bit style-over-substance. Control Room B completely bucks the trend. It manages to be hyper-aesthetic and incredibly respectful of its history all at the same time. You aren't just going for a drink; you’re going for a genuine 1950s time-capsule experience.
