Review The Stable, Exeter
The Stable in Exeter opened just over a year ago in the new Guildhall Dining Quarter, and has proven itself as one of the most popular venues there. It boasts a fabulous rooftop terrace in the centre of the city, with pizza, pies and cider.
They take pride in fine food and locally crafted cider and set this within an alluring atmosphere- with over 15 locations in the UK. Every Stable has a different menu, depending on the ingredients and cider available locally. This is a great touch, and means no 2 Stable menus are the same.
A new menu was recently launched, and The Stable kindly invited me down to try it out for myself. Set in candlelight above the hustle and bustle of the Guildhall down below, it is the prefect setting.
My boyfriend had the Longhorn Jim Pizza which is marinated Longhorn ground beef, chorizo, field mushroom, mozzarella and red onions topped with smoked ham. The base was light and crispy and topped with plenty of flavour and toppings.
We were super full for the delicious starter and main, but wanted to have a little something for pudding. This Vanilla clotted cream ice cream was a heavenly, and the perfect pallet cleanser to a delicious meal.
