Slimming World Recipe: Syn Free Turkey Bolognese

A lot of people ask me what they can create with turkey mince.  I usually point them in the direction of my turkey meatball recipe but have a great new recipe to share.  This is a lovely low fat twist on your traditional Bolognese and is just as delicious.  The turkey goes really well in the dish and I know you will enjoy it!  Syn free on EE

Extra Easy Syn Value:- Syn Free

Healthy Extras:-  None

You will need:-

400g lean turkey mince (choose breast instead of thigh mince if you can, as it has less fat)
Low Calorie spray
1 large onion, chopped
1 large carrot, chopped
250g mushrooms, finely chopped
1 red pepper chopped
1 tbsp tomato purée
2 x 400g cans chopped tomato
1 Garlic clove, finely chopped
1 tsp basil
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp Worcester sauce
400ml chicken stock cube (made up as directed)

Method:-

Spray a large frying pan with low calorie spray and fry the turkey mince until browned, set aside.

Fry off the onion, pepper, mushrooms, carrot and the garlic. Add the tomato purée, and cook for 1 min more, stirring to stop it from sticking.

Add the tomatoes, turkey and stock with the basil, paprika, Worcester sauce. Simmer for at least 20 mins (or longer) until thickened. Serve with pasta.

Notes-

Syn calculations are all carried out as a paying Slimming World member. I am not a consultant!  It is always recommended to check syn values yourself.
