If you love a creamy chicken lasagne and a classic Caesar salad, this Chicken Caesar Lasagne is the comfort food mash-up you need to try. It’s rich, cheesy and packed with flavour, using tender pre-cooked chicken breasts, crispy bacon, kale, spinach and a creamy parmesan Caesar béchamel sauce.
This easy chicken and bacon lasagne recipe is perfect for using up cooked chicken, especially if you’ve prepped chicken breasts in the air fryer. The sauce is a simple béchamel flavoured with garlic granules, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, parmesan, black pepper and a spoonful of Caesar dressing, giving the whole dish that savoury Caesar-style flavour without making it complicated.
Layered with lasagne sheets, greens, chicken, bacon and plenty of sauce, then topped with melted cheese and finished with crunchy crushed croutons, this creamy Chicken Caesar Lasagne is a cosy family dinner that feels a little bit different from a traditional lasagne.
Tips and Tricks for the Best Chicken Caesar Lasagne
For the best flavour, use pre-cooked chicken breasts that are still juicy rather than dry. Air fryer chicken works really well because it stays tender and makes the recipe quicker to assemble.
Don’t skip the Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce and parmesan in the béchamel. These ingredients help give the sauce its savoury Caesar-style flavour and stop it from tasting like a plain white sauce.
Add the Caesar dressing sparingly. One tablespoon is enough to bring in that Caesar flavour without making the sauce too sharp or overpowering.
Make sure there is plenty of sauce around the lasagne sheets, especially if you’re using dried pasta sheets. This helps them soften properly as the lasagne bakes.
Kale and spinach work beautifully in this recipe, but try not to overload each layer with greens. A little in each layer gives flavour, colour and texture without making the lasagne watery.
Sprinkle the crushed croutons on after baking, not before. This keeps them crunchy and gives the finished lasagne a Caesar salad-style topping.
Let the lasagne rest for 5–10 minutes before serving. This helps the layers set slightly, making it easier to slice and serve.
