Subway BMT Fakeaway | Slimming Friendly


I don't really know if this one can be classed as a 'recipe' as such, more an idea. It is, after all, just a sandwich! A little while back I discovered the Schär Gluten free ciabatta bread, can created this Cheesy Garlic Bread and Bruschettas

Gluten Free is something that historically I would have avoided. but after trying out the ciabattas I realised that I couldn't notice much difference in the bread. Following a diet plan means that white bread is often not an option, so have gluten free white bread feels almost like a treat.

For those on a Slimming World plan, there are a few gluten free breads that are fibrous enough to be classed as one of your Healthy Extra B.

A new GF bread that I wanted to try out was the Promise Gluten Free Super Soft White Sandwich Rolls. They are longer and larger than the ciabattas, so it feels like you are getting more for your mouth. 

I used to love getting a Subway Sandwich, and believed that it was a healthier option due to all the salad that gets added. Subway sandwiches are actually not that healthy, depending on your bread choices, so as soon as I found these sub like rolls, I wanted to recreate one of my favorites. 

I always chose the Italian BMT (Big Meat Tasty). It is usually made with salami, spicy pepperoni, and Black Forest Ham. I used wafer thin chicken, wafer thin ham and a few slices of salami.

Extra Easy Syn Value: 4 Syns (including mayo)

Healthy Extras : 1 x A, 1 x B.

You will need:

1 x Promise Gluten Free Super Soft White Sandwich Rolls
Slices of wafer thin chicken
Slices of wafer thin ham
3 slices of salami
1 tbsp light mayo
40g Extra Light Cheese

You salad options to top.  I used a few types of lettuce, peppers, sweetcorn and gherkins.

Method:

Slice the bread in half length ways.

Add the meat and layer then cheese and salad on top.

Fold the sandwich in half and press down. 

Cut in half and serve!
