I have been doing a lot of research online into making 1/2 syn chocolate brownies. I couldn't really believe it at first, but the recipe is flour free and sugar free. I have to say that the texture is a little different to a standard brownie, but still tastes great. Original recipe is from My Diet Journey
Extra Easy Syn Value:- 1/2 each
Healthy Extras:- None
Slimming World recently gave an update on sweetener use... the syn value above has not taken this into account!
You will need:-
6 eggs (separated)
70g Splenda (or other sweetener)
60g cocoa powder (not hot chocolate)
1tsp vanilla essence
Preheat the oven at 180ºc, spray a baking tin with Fry Light
Line with greaseproof paper
Whisk the egg whites until they form soft peaks.
In a separate bowl add the egg yolks, sweetener, vanilla essence & cocoa
Whisk until mixed. Add a bit of water if the mixture is too stiff
Fold in the egg whites
Pour the mixture into the tin
Bake for 25-30 minutes and cut into approx 25 small brownies
Syn calculations are all carried out as a paying Slimming World member. I am not a consultant! It is always recommended to check syn values yourself.
