Review: Luscombe Hot Ginger Beer & Strawberry Crush

In my quest to discover new fresh, local producers I stumbled upon Luscombe Drinks.  Set in the heart of Devon they proudly make their drinks with only the best organic ingredients sourced from either their own Devon orchards, or all they way to Sri Lanka and Jamaica for their Limes and Ginger.  Their fruits only come from growers that they know, making their drinks that little bit more satisfying.

Luscombe doesn't use concentrates and has no need of artificial additives or flavourings.  In fact, their website boasts how you will never find any preservatives, colourants, flavourings, enhancers, acidity regulators, artificial sweeteners, animal by-products, artificial pesticide residues, genetically modified organisms or any big, harsh, rasping bubbles the size of toads' eyes, in any of their drinks.

Luscombe is a family owned business that has been established since 1975, and they have been making their wonderful natural drinks ever since.  They work hard with no shorthand, tricks or short-cuts and use bespoke pieces of equipment made especially for them by craftsmen to help them make a genuine drink. Winners of multiple awards in their time, I couldn't wait to try some!

I got sent some of their Strawberry Crush and Hot Ginger Beer to try.

The Hot Ginger Beer was, as it stated, hot.  Within moments of the first sip it feels warming from the inside, perfect for this current miserable weather. It was zesty, almost limey and had a strong taste of a good pure ginger.  You can taste just how natural these drinks are, and how different in quality than any cheap shop bought ginger beer.  I had a look at the ingredients, and as they promised it was all natural goodness.

The Strawberry Crush brought memories of summer flooding back with just one sip. The light and fruity taste was delicious, and just like a mouthful of strawberries, with just the right amount of fizz to top it off.  This drink is the perfect accompaniment to the summer, but also perfect to remind you of the summer during the Winter months.  Again, all the ingredients are natural and made with real fruit.

Both these flavours were amazing, but Luscombe also have a range of juices, soft drinks and cider for you to try out.
