Review: Veg In A Box

Being on Slimming World means that a lot of money needs to be spent on fruit and veg.  Every time I go shopping I always seem to forget to pick up the best fruit and it always turns out super expensive!  A few of my friends started talking about "Veg in A Box", a small local company that offered massive fruit, veg and salad boxes delivered to your house.

I ordered myself a fruit and veg box, and couldn't wait for it's arrival!  I spoke to Julie, the owner and she told me how their boxes differ from bigger veg box companies.  All the boxes are customisable, so if there is anything that you don't like you can request that it isn't in your box.  Every week the box changes depending what is in season and available from local producers.

The box was HUGE!

It was packed with broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, butter-nut squash, green beans, asparagus, leeks, carrots, mangetouts, a pepper, garlic, sweet potatoes, onions, mushrooms and potatoes.  The fruit was some delicious strawberries, oranges, peaches, doughnut peaches, apples, plums, passion fruit, water melon and bananas.  I may even have missed some of the items off, there was just so much!

This box is £25 and is great value for how much is included.  If anything it was almost a little too big just for the 2 of us and some of the veg went off before I had a chance to use it, but great for bigger familes. This is such a great company, and if you live in Exeter and surrounding areas, this is definitely worth a go.  Just join up to their Facebook page here

Here are some of the tasty meals I made with the fruit and veg
