Review: Fingle Glen Restaurant

Fingle Glen Golf Hotel is situated about a 15 minute drive from Exeter City Centre in Tedburn St. Mary. Their restaurant offers a wide range of meals, in a nice location.
It being a miserable Monday evening, the restaurant was quiet, but the staff were very happy and talkative, lightening the mood. They were also very attentive and the food order was promptly plated up.

After looking at the menu for a while, both Nick and I decided on the same 2 courses!  To start our meal off we enjoyed a grilled goats cheese and balsamic salad.  This was a lovely, warm and creamy slice of goats cheese on a bed of fresh crisp leaves. The balsamic glaze was sweet and tarte and perfectly balanced.
For our main course we each had an 8oz rump steak. The steak was served with mushrooms, garden peas, chips and a peppercorn sauce. The steak was succulent, juicy, and cooked exactly as we'd requested. The peppercorn sauce was thick and creamy with whole peppercorns, and it was clear that it had been freshly made on-site. The chips were fluffy on the inside and crisp on the outside and the overall portion size was perfect.
So all that's left is the scores!
