Recipe: Chardonnay Icing

I made these cakes as part of the Hardy's Blogger Challenge blind wine tasting evening.  I wanted to create Chardonnay based food as well!  This icing is so tasty, and adds a sharpness to the sweet butter icing that works really really well.


You will need:-

250g butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
600g icing sugar
25ml Chardonnay

Method:-

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and vanilla.

Blend in the sugar, a quarter at a time, beating well after each addition.

Beat in the wine and continue mixing until light and fluffy, use to ice your favourite cup cakes
