Lottie Shaw's Father's Day Hamper!

Lottie Shaw is a creator of award winning Yorkshire Parkin, biscuits, flapjacks and other tasty treats.  With Father's Day fast approaching she has created a delicious Father's Day hamper, packed with some of her best tasty treats-perect for any Dad with a sweet tooth! It contains a large sharing bar of Lottie’s all-butter Millionaire Shortbread, baked with a ‘Happy Father’s Day’ message on top of the gooey caramel and Belgian chocolate, box of  gingery Yorkshire Parkin Biscuits (perfect for dunking!), a jar of Seriously Good Caramel Sauce and, of course, there’s also a slice of Lottie’s famous Seriously Good Yorkshire Parkin.  Baked to a 100-year-old family recipe that combines oatmeal, black treacle and syrup in a sticky sensation that can be slathered with butter (and served with a tot of whisky!), or smothered in strawberries and cream.

I got the chance to ask Lottie herself some questions, and she is very kindly giving a hamper away to one of my readers!

As I'm a Devonshire dumpling, please can you explain what a Yorkshire 'Parkin' is?
Yorkshire Parkin is a ginger cake baked using Oatmeal, black treacle & syrup as key ingredients in the recipe

Who inspired you to get baking, and what made you decide to turn it into a business?
My family opened their first bakers shop in Yorkshire in 1913 and the family have baked ever since passing seriously good recipes down through the generations?

If you had to eat just one of your products for the rest of your life, which would it be?
Our Yorkshire Parkin, it's amazing and can be served and enjoyed in so many different ways!

I absolutely love hampers, what gave you the idea to start making them?
Hampers give us the opportunity to share what we do so everyone has the opportunity to enjoy our products

How did you decide which products to put in the fathers day hamper?
Dads love our Yorkshire Parkin and with the caramel sauce it can be enjoyed as a pudding, the Yorkshire Parkin biscuits are great dunkers for dads cup of tea and any dad who loves chocolate won't be disappointed with our Belgian Chocolate Millionaire Shortbread

What makes your products "seriously good"?
Our products are seriously good as we use the sugars to preserve them keeping the home made taste that has been evident in our recipes over the years.  We also take great care in packaging    our products to make them an affordable luxury

Do you have any valuable tips for armature bakers?
Always taste your mix before it goes in the oven if it tastes great before it goes in it should taste great when it comes out if it tastes awful when it goes in won't taste any better when it comes out!

Can you make a decent Yorkshire pudding, and how do you have yours?
I love making great Yorkshire Puddings but I never measure my ingredients I believe you can feel when the mixture is just right.  I serve mini ones often as party food with a horseradish cream and a small chunk of fillet steak - yum!

Other than your website, is there anywhere else can we buy your products from?
Yes we sell our products on Not on the High Street .com

The Father's Day hamper is available for £20 from Lottie's Website, but you can also enter my competition to win one below!
