Speed Food List for Slimming World

What is speed food?

Speed foods are fruits and vegetables that should take up 1/3 of your plate with every meal. They are proven to help speed up weight loss, and are a very important part of Slimming World.

All recipes and foods on my website should be served with plenty of speed food. Here is Slimming World's list of free foods. Some contain links to recipes on my website that they are included in.

Ways to incorporate Speed Foods into meals on Slimming World

Add fruit to your cereals. I love adding blueberries and blackcurrants to my breakfast, or on top of my baked oats

When eating a snack like a yogurt, add some fruit to it or on the side.

If you have a craving for chocolate or something similar, quench the cravings with natures sweets- fruit.

A breakfast sandwich can be packed with lettuce, tomatoes and cucumber, or served with some salad on the side.

A big portion of roasted veg as your side dish (onion, peppers, carrots, tomatoes, salt, pepper and some seasoning) means you're getting a wider selection of speed food on your plate in one portion.

Vegetables can be slow cooked in stock, such as green beans, which gives the veg the flavour of the stock and takes away 'veg' flavour.

Swap chips or mash with an alternative mash, such as carrot and suede or butternut squash, and parsnip fries.

Swap rice for cauliflower rice.

Add vegetables to pasta dishes. You can always bulk out a meal with extra speed food. Adding onions, peppers and tomatoes to a pasta fish, for example.

Swap the meat for vegetables in things like a stir fry, double the veg added instead.

This list is updated and changed regularly, so it is always best to check the most up to date version.
