Review: Tiger Bills

Tiger Bills has been open for years, and I have never actually been there before. They are located in North Street in Exeter, as well as many other locations across the country so when the opportunity to try it out came about, we were both very excited.

They offer a clever of mix of two cuisines, from the East and from the West, and pride themselves on serving authentic Thai street food with their chefs preparing almost everything on site, from starters to a range of curry, stir-fry and soup dishes as well as a full Western grill with sirloin steaks or even a huge rack of ribs.

To start out evening off, we ordered a 'Sex on the Beach' cocktail. This came as a jug and 2 glasses to share, and it was delicious! This is a mixture of vodka, peach schnapps, creme de cassis, and orange and cranberry juices. It was yummy and had enough in it for us to keep topping it up throughout the meal.

For starters we went for a Tiger Bills Thai Combo.   This gave a selection of their Thai appetisers for 2 people.  It included spring rolls, stuffed chicken wings, ribs, Golden Bags, tiger prawns in filo and chicken toast. Each individual item was cooked to perfection and full of flavour. The meat just fell off the ribs, and left me wanting more. The prawns were delicious and went really well the the Thai sweet chilli sauce that it was served with.   This was the perfect way to sample some if their Thai offerings, and get the appetite going, ready for the mains.

Nick went for a Chicago stack loaded with Bacon, Monterey Jack melted cheese, fried red shallots, onion rings, portabello Mushroom and BBQ sauce served with chips and coleslaw.  He said that the burger was succulent and very tasty, made even more tasty with the cheese and bacon.  He was eating away and even after her said he felt full, he just couldn't stop going back for more- which is the sign of a good meal. This was a definite thumbs up from him, in fact he loved it.

I went for Steak and Chicken Fajitas, served on a hot skillet with Bell peppers, Mushrooms & onions accompanied by Guacamole, soured cream, fresh salsa & warm flour tortillas.  As soon as it was delivered to the table the smell was just amazing. The waiter offered any additional tortilla wraps as and when I needed them.  This was amazing, the steak and chicken were both succulent and melt in the mouth.  When added to the tortilla with the sour crème it was just a taste sensation and I loved it.  I liked it so much so that I took the left over meat home because it was just too good to waste!

We were both really impressed at the taste and quality of the food served, as well as the service. It was a nice place to sit and enjoy our meal and we felt very looked after.  We both definitely recommend it, and will be going back again soon!
