Recipe: Valentines Double Choc Shortbread Hearts

This recipe is quick and easy and gives great results! I used a heart cutter to give them a Valentines edge, but you could use any shape cutter you want.  I dipped half of them in white chocolate and added sprinkles to give and extra pretty edge.

You will need:-
350g butter, softened
200g golden caster sugar
400g plain flour
4 tbsp cocoa powder
1 teaspoon Vanilla essence
1 bar of white chocolate
Sprinkles
Method:-

Cream together the butter and sugar.

Add the chocolate powder to the flour and sift into the butter mix, you may need to use your hands.  Leave mixture in the fridge for 1 hour.

Heat your oven to 160 degrees, and roll out your shortbread to about 1cm thickness, use your cutter to cut as many shapes as you can

Bake in the oven for 12-15 mins

Allow to cool completely. Melt the chocolate and dip half of the shortbread in it, letting the excess drip off.  Then sprinkle with your sprinkles!

Allow chocolate to cool, and serve!
